Blue Violet Boutique started its story in the spring of 2004 in beautiful Beverly Hills, California, when its founder Joanna Revel fulfilled her life long dream of owning her own business, bringing a colorful, eclectic, and stylish inventory to its customers. Blue Violet Boutique is a Los Angeles-based fashion and accessories business that reaches deep into the city's dynamic and retro influences. Gaining much momentum, Blue Violet offers unique designers and a stylish, eclectic inventory filled with a flair for the city's modern mixed with vintage appeal. Blue Violet has also strived to align itself with various philanthropic organizations, including Cory's Kitchen, The American Liver Foundation, and Elizabeth's House.
Whether it's a sparkly and eclectic necklace, sassy city scarf, or cocktail ring, Blue Violet's items will be your new wardrobe treasure! Its founder, Joanna Revel, utilizes over 15 years working throughout the different facets of the fashion business. It's her well-rounded and dynamic background that further inspired her to launch her own fashion retail business, showcasing LA's independent designers that celebrate and reflect LA's vibrant energy and fusion of stylish, modern designs with vintage-inspired looks.
While finishing her Bachelor of Arts in Communications at CSUF, she interned with Arden B's visual merchandising department and worked as a visual manager at an upscale Laguna Beach boutique. Her experience there led her to LA's downtown fashion district, where she landed her first road rep position with a stylish junior label selling to buyers at upscale shops throughout LA's West Side. She soon obtained a territory manager position for a successful eyewear distributer in Southern California, selling to over 150 specialty stores throughout LA's big city to various chain stores and specialty shops. All the while, she was working on her business plan for Blue Violet Boutique in a business course offered by the Small Business Administration and finishing a course study in fashion merchandising and buying, maintaining a 4.0 GPA in the course study.
She received an outstanding achievement award in presenting Blue Violet's business plan in the SBA's course, and not long after, Blue Violet Boutique opened its doors. Its colorful, stylish inventory has been featured in the widely read online publication Racked LA and was featured in local LA magazine Adore Shop Magazine, which had a good run in the local scene, offering fashionistas an outlet to shop beautiful boutiques and hidden gems around the city.
Blue Violet has also had the pleasure of showcasing in over 250 trade shows and trunk shows throughout all of Southern California and has helped organize dozens of specialty fashion show events, some of which were philanthropic, benefiting such important organizations such as Cory's Kitchen, Stepping Stones for Women, and Elizabeth's House.
Blue Violet also participated in some well-known trade events in LA including Shecky's and Fashion Day Soirees, as well as the Gen Art Fashion Event. In 2013, while Blue Violet was gaining more momentum, it was selected to be part of the exclusive and successful Shoptiques.com, bringing the world's best boutiques all in one spot to showcase their most unique and lovely items, further bringing Blue Violet's vision of bringing LA's unique style to your door!
